Whispers of a Higher Reality

I have divided our journey to the higher reality (and beyond!) into seven steps, as shown in the picture. To get the most out of the website, you should take them in the ascending order shown:

(For most people, this will be the most familiar step: it is very well trodden. Essentially, it is the argument that our universe is fundamentally indeterministic – you cannot, with 100% certainty, predict the outcome of any quantum interaction.)

(This step is also smoothed with the passage of time and the feet of many philosophers, physicists and mathematicians, but it is nevertheless more controversial than the first.)

(This step makes the case that patterns in an indeterministic universe imply parallel universes. The approach is novel, but the conclusion is nearly the same (but not quite!) as that in Everett’s Many Worlds Interpretation.)

4. Many Discrete Worlds (MDW)

(In this step, we find a solution for the perennial problem with Everett’s Many Worlds Interpretation (namely, the problem of explaining branch weighting)).

5. A finite multiverse

(Using the Lebesgue measure (a technique which we explain in the text), we find that the multiverse of parallel universes must be finite.)

6. A Higher Reality

(All of the previous steps point to the inevitability of a higher reality, although we can perceive its nature only dimly.)

7. The Ultimate Mystery

(When we reach the final step we are presented with a revelation that is frankly… well, mind-blowing! It turns out that the very signposts that took us to the higher reality were all the time pointing to a grander and vastly more profound mystery: it seems that the results of quantum experiments would not be achieved without what appears to have been “active input” to the infrastructure of our cosmos!)
